Ash Ambihaipahar

Candidate for Barton

Ash Ambihaipahar has lived in the St George area her whole life. Growing up in Hurstville, Ash attended Hurstville Public School and Danebank Anglican Girls’ School.

She studied science at the University of Sydney and law at the University of Technology, Sydney. As a lawyer, she fought to make workplaces fairer—ensuring workers got a fair go and small businesses were supported.

In 2022 Ash became a Councillor on the Georges River Council. Since then Ash has been a staunch opponent to ticketless parking fines. "Every driver deserves the right know when and why they've been fined at the time they're being fined." She continues to champion transparency and accountability on how ratepayers money is being spent.

In her current role at the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW, Ash sees firsthand how the rising cost of living is hitting families. She’s been on the ground running a team to help people stay in their homes, pay their electricity bills, and accessing affordable and quality healthcare.

Ash has devoted her life to supporting her community. For many years she has been an active volunteer, delivering meals to homes, volunteering in soup kitchens, and delivering bread to those who need it in the community, through her Church.

These experiences are the reason that Ash has put her hand up to become the federal member for Barton. She knows that's where the real decisions are made that impact your day-to-day life.

She will always stand up for her community and do what is right to benefit everyone. All her life, Ash has been about putting her community first and she will continue to do that as the Federal Member for Barton.
