Current Position:

This position will be the lead role assisting the Assistant National Secretary and the National Returning Officer in the successful administration of a ballot to elect the Party president and two-vice presidents. The role will also include assisting with the National Policy Forum process to re-draft the National Platform.

National President Election

  • Managing the logistics of the ballot (online and via post) and assisting with the counting of all ballots.
  • Working with National Secretariat Digital staff to develop a National President Election website.
  • Managing incoming correspondence from party members in relation to the ballot.
  • Recruitment and supervision of Party volunteers to assist in the ballot’s administration.
  • Provide ongoing progress reports to stakeholders.

National Policy Forum

Assist with the coordination of the workplan and logistics of the National Policy Forum in the preparation of the draft National Platform including organising NPF meetings and forums, processing submissions and feedback from consultations on the platform, liaising with the Secretary of the NPF and Coordinators of the NPF and members.

ALP Employment Requirements

Experience and qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor degree or have substantially completed such a degree

The role is based in Canberra and reports to the National Secretary.
