The ALP National Executive has received the final report of the 2025 Federal Election campaign review, Beyond the Win: Meeting Australians’ Expectations and Delivering Change.
The review, which was commissioned by the ALP National Executive following our historic victory last year and received by the National Executive in December, evaluates Labor’s 2025 federal election campaign and sets out lessons for governing and future campaigns.
Labor's historic win was built on optimism about the future of our country, and the promise to build on first term delivery with detailed plans on the economy, housing and Medicare.
The challenge now is to turn this mandate into lasting change by delivering tangible improvements to people's lives.
This review also makes clear that we must keep growing our party and modernising our campaign machinery.
Labor's grassroots strength remains a cornerstone of our electoral success. We must take this historic opportunity to build a stronger and larger membership base.
On behalf of Labor, I want to thank the members of the review panel for their important work – Lenda Oshalem, Emeline Gaske, Moksha Watts and Chris Ford.
As noted in the Review, Labor's second term must be focused on delivering tangible improvements to people's lives, maintaining consistent and effective engagement with local communities, and continued Caucus unity and stability.
Wayne Swan, National President ALP
