Surbhi is the Labor candidate for Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula.
Surbhi grew up in Mauritius, India and Zimbabwe, coming to Australia at 20, to study and graduated in banking and finance. She has worked in banks, on farms, and has run her own small businesses.
After moving to the Mornington Peninsula five years ago with her husband and two children, she got involved in the local community, working and volunteering for local organisations.
Growing up in a single parent household in different countries, Surbhi has seen first-hand the direct impact government policies can have on women, and the future prosperity of their children.
Surbhi is passionate about advocating for a better approach to childcare, healthcare, and education and a community where women are involved in the decision making.
Seeing the impact of climate change on our beautiful marine and beach environment, Surbhi is passionate about the wellbeing of her community and environment.
Surbhi understands that embracing a renewable energy future is vital for the job prospects and prosperity for all Australian jobs. She supports Labor’s policies which will create over 600,000 jobs and make Australia an international renewable energy superpower.
Surbhi chose Australia because it was seen as a country where everyone gets a fair go. The Morrison Government has been shameful in its complete disregard for the Australian people. Surbhi wants to be part of a Labor government that will work with integrity to serve the Australian people, and she will be a passionate advocate for her local community.
