Simon Davis, a local dad, hospitality worker and union representative for more than 20 years is Labor’s candidate for Clark in the 2022 Federal Election.
Simon has been a strong voice for workers through union activism both as a workplace leader and organiser. Having worked in hospitality for many years and now as a union representative, Simon has spent most of his adult life listening to the people of Hobart. Throughout his career, Simon has seen the impact that insecure work can have on mental health and quality of life. A well paid and secure job is the key to a better life for millions of Australians and Simon will always stand up for workers whether they are in or out of work.
The electorate of Clark is one of the most progressive in the country, and Simon believes that it should have a strong progressive voice representing it inside a Labor Government.
Outside of work and politics, Simon's focus is on his young family. Having two children with both parents working full time is challenging, and would not be achievable without affordable quality childcare. Simon understands how critical it is that we properly value and support early childhood educators and ensure everyone has access to affordable childcare.
Simon was born, raised, studied, and has lived and worked in Clark his entire life. He knows the electorate and its people and looks forward to being an energetic and progressive representative in our Parliament.
