Sharyn Morrow, Labor’s candidate for Durack, is a proud member of her local Karratha community.
Living remotely, Sharyn appreciates the unique challenges of living in the regions, and the need to provide the best infrastructure and services to enable families to live and grow.
As a cancer survivor, Sharyn understands how vital it is for regional communities to have access to our world class health system regardless of where you live.
Sharyn believes that your health care should depend on your Medicare card and not your credit card, which is why she is determined to fight for hospital upgrades in regional Western Australia, better funding for mental health services and to reverse the Liberals’ Medicare freeze.
To support herself through university, Sharyn worked jobs in the retail and hospitality sectors, so she knows first-hand the difference that penalty rates make. Sharyn is backing Labor’s plan to reverse Liberal cuts to penalty rates because she understands that for working families in her community, penalty rates are not a luxury. For many people in the regions, penalty rates put food on the table and petrol in the car.
Sharyn continues volunteering in her community. She is a proud SES volunteer assisting with emergencies in her local community.
