Since moving to Toowomba with his wife in 1987 to raise his family, long-term local Chris Meibusch has spent 25 years working as a local community lawyer.
Heavily involved in the local community, Chris Meibusch has run the Save Mt Lofty campaign for the last 4 years, a community group opposed to Commonwealth Government plans to bulldoze 38 hectares of critical koala habitat.
Mr Meibusch, like many local residents, put his hand up as the Labor candidate for the Groom by-election because he was fed up with the region being left behind by the Federal LNP Government.
Chris is going to use this by-election as an opportunity to fight for better infrastructure, the NBN, aged care or our local hospital.
Mostly, Chris wants to see the Federal LNP Government being held to account for their lack of action on aged care, and avoiding systemic issues that have been impacting the Groom community far too long.
