Biography
Julie Collins was born in Tasmania in 1971. She has worked tirelessly over the past twenty years to improve the lives of Tasmanian families in a variety of political and public sector roles including as an adviser to former Tasmanian Premier Jim Bacon.
At different stages of her career, Julie also worked locally in customer service and business support roles in real estate and energy environments.
Julie's appointment in 2006 as the State Secretary of the Tasmanian Labor Party is indicative of her ability and the esteem in which she is held by her political colleagues.
Julie is married to Ian and is the mother of Georgina 13, Lachlan 6 and Xandy 5.
Like most working mothers, Julie has taken an active interest in her children's educational and sporting activities.
